The proposed Yuma Pipeline Project (Project) is in southwest Arizona. LED Enterprises, LLC, an affiliate of Grupo Clisa (hereafter referred to as LED Enterprises), is planning to site, permit, and construct a new natural gas pipeline to transport and supply the new demand for power generation, industrial, and residential consumption in the northwestern Mexican market, as well as the demand for power generation in the Yuma area and throughout Arizona.
The Project will consist of approximately 90 miles of a 30-inch-diameter natural gas pipeline in La Paz and Yuma counties, Arizona. This Project will enable LED Enterprises to transport an estimated capacity of up to 800 million cubic feet per day of natural gas.
The Project's preliminary proposed pipeline route has been updated since our first two open houses on June 10 and 11, 2025. The updated proposed route originates at an interconnect with El Paso Natural Gas Company approximately 7 miles southeast of Quartzsite, Arizona, travels south and then west past the Yuma, Arizona area, where the Project will cross the U.S.-Mexico international border near San Luis, Arizona.
LED Enterprises filed a request to use the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission鈥檚 (FERC) pre-filing review process on March 19, 2025, which allows for early collaboration with agencies, landowners, and stakeholders to address potential environmental issues prior to submitting a formal application.
The FERC accepted LED Enterprise鈥檚 request on April 2, 2025, and issued the FERC Docket Number PF25-8-000. In the coming months, the FERC will conduct a formal public scoping meeting to accept comments from the public and other stakeholders. You can find more information on FERC鈥檚 e-library at www.ferc.gov with docket number PF25-8-000.
To encourage community input, an informational open house meeting will be held in June and July 2025 for the public and elected officials. These events will provide an opportunity to learn more about the project, engage directly with the project team, and offer feedback ahead of the formal FERC application.
The meetings will take place on:
